1)    GATHERING and OPENING PRAYER

2)    READ / LISTEN to Titus 3:1-15
A)    What are your initial impressions?  Questions? 
i)    Are there notable differences in various translations? 

3)    PROPER CONDUCT (3:1-2)
A)    Remember what is already known
i)    Do Good To The Government Through Submission (vs. 1) 
ii)    Do Good To All By Not Gossiping And Quarreling (vs. 2a). 
iii)    Do Good To All By Being Gentle (vs. 2b)
iv)    Do Good To All By Showing True Humility (vs. 2c)

4)    THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW (3:3-8)
A)    The basis for right living:
i)    Do Good To All Because We Were In The Same Boat (vs. 3)
ii)    Do Good To All Because Of God’s Kindness And Love (vs. 4)
iii)    Do Good To All Because Of God’s Mercy (vs. 5)
iv)    Do Good To All Because God Is Generous And Kind (vv. 6-7)

5)    AVOID HINDRANCES TO THE CHURCH (3:9-11)
A)    Do Good As Christians By Profitable Discussions, Not Useless Ones (vs. 9) 

B)    Do Good As Christians By Patience With The Divisive To A Point (vv. 10-11)
i)    Factious = airetikov  hahee-ret-ee-kos' = Heretic
 
6)    CONCLUDING INSTRUCTIONS AND REMARKS (3:12-15)
A)    After meeting Paul in Nicopolis, Titus went on to Dalmatia. (2nd Timothy 4:10)

B)    Paul most likely sent Artemas to Crete. (2nd Timothy 4:12)

C)    Zenas and Apollos most likely brought this letter to Titus in Crete from Paul in Nicopolis. 
i)    We don’t know much about Zenas. 
ii)    Apollos was a great preacher trained more accurately about the way of God by Pricilla and Aquila. (Acts 18:24-28)

D)    Paul wants Titus and the churches in Crete to show their good works in cases of urgent need, beginning with helping Zenas and Apollos along the way.

E)    Verses 13-15 reveal that although this letter has been addressed to Titus, it was intended to be read to all the church congregations in Crete.

7)    APPLICATION
A)    We must obey the Law, pay taxes, and work for the good of the community. (Luke 20:25; Romans 13:1)

B)    We are called to pray for our leaders. (1st Timothy 2:1-4)

C)    We should use our God-given gifts to help others. (Romans 12:6-8; Colossians 1:9-10)

D)    Salvation comes from God. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12)

E)    We should encouragingly correct those in error. (Matthew 18:15-17)
