3) TEACH SOUND DOCTRINE (2:1)
A) “But you, (Titus)…” See Titus 1:10-16

4) AGE-ORIENTED GODLINESS (2:2-10)
A) (vs. 2) What six qualities should older men have?

B) (vv. 3-4) Older Women
i) How should they act?
ii) What should they avoid?
iii) What are they to teach and to whom?

C) (vv. 4-5) What are the younger women to learn from the older women?

D) (vv. 6-8) Titus’ example to the younger men.
i) What is he to encourage them to be?
ii) What is Titus to show by example?

E) (vv. 9-10) Review Paul on slavery:
i) 1st Corinthians 7:20-24; Galatians 3:26-29; 5:13; Ephesians 6:5-9; Colossians 3:22-25; 1st Timothy 6:1-2; Philemon 10-17
ii) Peter on slavery: 1st Peter 2:18-25

5) THE THEOLOGICAL BASIS FOR GODLY LIVING (2:11-15)
A) (vs. 11) Grounded in the Incarnation of Christ (Does this teach universalism?)

B) (vs. 12) Taught by God’s Grace
i) What to say “NO” to
ii) What to say “YES” to

C) (vs. 13) Strengthened by Hope. What is the blessed hope of believers?
D) (vs. 14) Secured through Redemption, we are God’s own possession.
i) Resulting in Good Works

E) (vs. 15) Affirming Titus

6) APPLICATION
A) In our holy living and our testimony we make the gospel of Jesus Christ attractive to others. (Isaiah 52:7)

B) We must always live ready for, and eagerly await, the second coming of Christ. (Matthew 24:44)

C) We should be intentional about being mentored in our faith, and mentoring others. (James 3:13)
