Summer Road Trip 2023
Learning the major events in the history of God and people will give you a clearer understanding of the Bible and its life-changing message for today. We’ll simplify it by using seven simple keywords:
#1: Creation, #2: Sin, #3: Promise to Abram, #4: Commandment,
#5: Jesus, #6: Salvation, #7: Heaven

This week we travel take the road trip to salvation. The event is a personal experience for every individual who trusts Jesus for deliverance. At the defining moment of faith, God himself takes up residence in every believer by his Holy Spirit.

God’s gift to us is the Resurrection of Christ. Christmas means nothing without Easter.

The Resurrection is part one of a three-part process for God’s declared Victory over sin and death. The Ascension of Christ was part two, and we await part three – the Second Coming of Christ.

History has proved that God has already accomplished the first two parts. Only a fool would believe that God will not fulfill His plan. (Psalm 53:1)

When God’s plan is fulfilled in the return of Christ, all who are saved with be with God forever. Therefore, it’s a good idea to know what we must do to be Saved.

Finding God (not above or below)
i.    Paul ties in Leviticus and Deuteronomy to point out God’s plan from the beginning. (like prophets with the Savior)

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

In our mouth and in our heart
ii.    The word of faith. (Hebrews11:1,6)
1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

(Ephesians 2:8-9) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

What must we do to be saved? What is the way to our Salvation?
iii.    Confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.

Acts 4:12"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

Resurrection (1st Cor. 15:17,19) 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins- If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.

Available to all (John 3:13-16) 13 "No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. 14 "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. 16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

God loves you. He sent Jesus Christ to give you something you couldn’t have purchased or earned. Rejoice and be glad in our salvation!

Jesus comes to Change our Hearts
In Bethlehem – the world beheld God in the Flesh
At Calvary – our sins were redeemed and we were reconciled to God
In the future – Jesus will come again and the righteous and wicked will be judged and He will reign forever

Until that day…He brings the Holy Spirit to change our hearts and to give us a glimpse of the Holy. DO YOU BELIEVE THESE THINGS?

(Invitation to receive or recommit to Christ)

Confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved! Amen

Romans 10:6-13 NLT
6 But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth). 7 And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again).” 8 In fact, it says, “The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: 9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”
