H2O SERIES: Living Water. Invitation. Polluted. Source. Pure.

Were you ever sure you were doing the right thing – going the right way – in the right relationships – working at the right job - making the right decisions – having the right philosophy of life, only to run into a roadblock or detour?
What do we do then? We need to change our perspective.
We need an attitude adjustment. Success in life depends on how well we embrace change in order to be set on the right path.
Isaiah 43:18-19 Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.

3. Pure
Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”  Jesus sometimes gets a bad reputation—because of hypocrisy in His followers, misconceptions, or evil things that people claimed were done in His name.  But the real Jesus, the Jesus in Scripture, is different.  He promises to be the way, the truth, and the life.  And if you give Jesus a chance, He will keep that promise.  He is different than anything else the world has to offer, and if you listen to Him in John 14, He promises to be everything that we need.

The Way—He Can Save You
-Jesus says that He is the way, that there is no other way to God.
-No amount of money, no resume, no qualifications, no other god, no ritual can get you to God.  That way is only found in Jesus of Nazareth. What Jesus is saying is that He can save you.  If you let Him, if you give Him a chance, He can save you from other things that promise to free you but only make you their slave.  He can save you from a life that promises happiness but delivers depression.  He is the way—the only way.
The Truth—You Can Trust Him
-What Jesus says is true.  He is willing to let you test Him, and He is willing to let you doubt Him, but eventually He will prove true.
-He does not lie, He does not steal, He does not promise what He cannot provide.  He is true.
-In a world full of empty promises, lying politicians, and unbelievable advertisements, Jesus is the truth, and He can be trusted.
-You don’t have to be afraid of disappointment or manipulation, because He is the truth.

The Life—It Starts Now
-Here’s the best thing about Jesus: we don’t have to wait until we get to heaven for His promises to come true.
-As “the life”, Jesus promises us that He came to give us abundant, true, full, real, good life (John 10:10).  That doesn’t mean everything will always be perfect, but it does mean that His way is the best.  There is no better way of life than life the way God intended.
-Jesus’ plan for marriage, for work, for honesty, or for finances is better than anything else the world can offer.  His life, a life lived His way, is the best life.  It starts now.  We don’t have to wait until heaven to start living in the way, the truth, and the life.  It starts now.

SONG: No Other Name

John 14:1-7 NLT
14 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?  3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. 7 If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”
