God Never Quits

God Never Quits
Philippians 1:2-6 - Victory Fellowship
September 10, 2023 - Rev. Roderick Grabski

I.    Introduction:
a.    The 1956 Olds that always quit on us.

b.    God will never quit on us. In fact, He intends to bring us to completion.

II.    RELATING THE TEXT: (Philippians 1:2-6)
a.    Paul thinks (reflects), prays, and responds to the work of God in the church and in the life of Christians.
i.    “when I think…whenever I pray, I...”

b.    Paul has an intense confidence that God will do far more than we can anticipate, and God will not quit on us.

III.    Application:
a.    Can we trust God enough to know that He can do infinitely more than we can think or ask and that He will NOT QUIT before He completes the work He began in us?

b.    If we practiced the same attitude and trust that Paul had toward God I believe it would affect us in at least two major ways:

We would realize that there is nothing in our past that can dim or rob our future in Christ!

We would accomplish great things in our lives and in the life of our Church.
(Hudson Taylor)

IV.    Conclusion:
a.    Let us resolve to think, pray, and respond to God - in ways that demonstrate that we have an intense trust and confidence in His plan us!

b.    God is good – all the time.
And all the time – God is good!

PRAYER
SONG: Finish What He Started (MercyMe)

Philippians 1:2-6: NLT
2 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. 3 Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. 4 Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, 5 for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. 6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
